I have a recurring dream about not being able to find my key to my locker. Even though I never had a key to a locker. They had combination locks.

Anyway, we had to lock up our books. They are expensive. Couldn't carry all of them around all day.
    Thanks from The Man

You are lucky you just carried books...

In Russia, kids these days carry around all kinds of stuff to and at school

lol. envisioning my HS with rifles. No. We got in trouble for things like putting gum on railings instead of trash. Walking on the grass. We didn't even have drugs.

I am guessing that lad has military preparation class next

Required for boys Grade 10 and up. To get them ready for potential conscription after 18.

Girls don't have to take the classes, but plenty do anyway

Increasing number of females are going into the military in Russia, voluntarily (women are not drafted). There are new opportunities these days for them, the Air Force said it will finally start training female pilots; the Navy will allow women to serve on warships (not subs though) starting next year. So, more girls are in military prep now

Good old Soviet practice that Putin brought back...

Weird thing is, with kids issued AKs at school, and learning to take them apart and put together and shoot them and all that, there's pretty much never been school shootings there, ever. Not in Soviet era, and not now either..

This photo may be a bit surprising and even jarring at first. But it's not a big deal.

It's just in case teacher gives him an 'F' on his math test.

Wow. That's a little worse than me putting Limburger cheese on the school radiators.

Kid looks like he's practicing for the discus throw at the Olympics.

When I was in high school, there were multiple pick-up trucks in the parking lot with rear window racks holding rifles and shot guns. No one noticed, no one cared and more importantly no one got shot.
    Thanks from The Man
