Have to agree with the judge on this one. Education isn't a Constitutional fundamental right. Nor should it be. Likewise food, housing and i-phones are not "rights". Exactly what level of education should be a right in the eyes of those who are outraged by this judge's decision....??

Which isn't to say States/Counties/Cities shouldn't have local programs, policies, and ordinances to address providing the school services. But those functions should be based on the decisions of the local communities.

I know. But people like to trot out phrases like "the american dream" that really have no meaning in this day and age. The last time I checked, it was some nonsense like having a wife, two kids, and a house with a white picket fence.

I do agree that the concept of "The American Dream" is obsolete.

It should be rebranded as "The American Opportunity" and should be: If you work hard and smart, obey the law, and don't make stupid decisions, you have a great chance of reaching your goals in life, whatever they may be.

I didn't say every teacher is failing to do their job but some are. Confronted with students who fail to learn, liberals refuse to blame students, parents, teachers or locally-elected school board members or their appointees. Their default position: blame white politicians in the state capital.

In keeping with free market thinking, we get what we pay for. Want better teachers, pay better wages.

Silicon valley median teacher pay, $67,671. Median cost of a home, $734,500.00.

Who are these "liberals" living in your vivid imagination?

Do any of them have names or faces?

Yeah... That's the part that has become obsolete. Replace the "If you work hard and smart, obey the law, and don't make stupid decisions" with "if you are born into a wealthy family and/or are unusually lucky", and you may have something that is relevant in today's America.
