Only 24.5 Million People Remain in Kyiv-Controlled Portions of Ukraine

Demographer Says Only 24.5 Million People Remain in Kyiv-Controlled Portions of Ukraine. A Russian specialist on populations says that as a result of outmigration and Russian seizures of Crimea and portions of the Donbass, the area of Ukrainian under the control of Kyiv has only 24.5 million residents (newsland.com/community/politic/content/kakova-realnaia-chislennost-naseleniia-ukrainy-shokiruiushchie-tsifry/5795977).

Well, let us count: in 2014, when Russia took Crimea, Ukraine had about 43 million people. They lost 2 million with Crimea. Another 3 million are in separatist controlled Donbass. Another up to 1 million went to Russia as refugees from Donbass. Perhaps another million went to Poland and elsewhere in Europe.

That's 36 million. But, I also have no idea how many more emigrated from there in this time, normally, not as refugees. Lots of people ran from the draft and such.

Who knows... There is a reason they began drafting even people over 50 since last year lol

And they now want to let Donbass go, because they know they ain't got the means to fight for it: Ukrainians want to let Donbass go

    That's Pripyat you're thinking of.

The Ukrainians probably will have another Chernobyl soon though, alongside all their other troubles. Their nuclear plant in Zaporozhye is in terrible shape, every month they have to shut down one of tbe reactor blocks. Only a matter of time there...
