But sir, these women are actually getting assaulted. This is no politically motivated rumor, spread by malicious liars.

These are real females, who were really attacked. They would not have been if the cops had protected them and the German courts prosecuted the violent criminals, etc.
Since you have almost no chance of changing German policies why not at least acknowledge those US states with much higher rape statistics like Alaska that you can influence?

Germany should have one rule of law, for everyone, and every woman in Germany should be able to depend on adequate government response to violent crime. There should be no "understandable" honor killings of immigrant women, either.

All the women in Germany deserve protection, all the time.
They do. And I am sure they have it, like any women in any civilized country.

Germany has properly working, non-corrupt police. Properly working courts. People who commit crimes, regardless of their background, I am sure will be fairly judged and punished.

Germans have nothing to complain about IMHO

And even if there actually were all these hundreds of rapes in Cologne, about which I have my doubts, btw, even if there were 1000 refugees out there committing these rapes; that's still 1000 out of hundreds of thousands of people. Don't forget that.

Vast majority of refugees are peaceful, law abiding people simply looking for a safe new home.

We have a Syrian refugee family living near us here. Perfectly fine people. I doubt they are gonna go raping people around here lol

Some here seem to hate any country headed by a liberal woman, while trying to use their irrational fears to indirectly influence US politics... it would seem.

I could make violent criminals out of any group of young men, traumatized, isolated and separated from their families. It's a universal human response to stressors like this.

The immigrants in Germany, like anyone else, deserve to be judged for their own individual conduct, not to be victimized by anyone angry over crimes committed by people who "look the same".

This thread kind of reminds me of all the "your perverts are worse than our perverts" comments between the left and the right in the Roy Moore and Harvey Weinstein threads... just the international version.

It's more about violating expectations. If you see a woman on the beach in a bikini, it's ordinary. If you see a woman in her underwear at the office, it's shocking.

Young men who have only ever seen women in headscarves or even bureaus will be shocked to see them in a tee shirt and jeans.

But what really ramps up the rate of violence is that most of these young men are detached from their families, running in groups, and all have been traumatized and isolated. This produces exceptionally high rates of violence among young men of ANY culture.

That’s hack, tabloid, sensationalist journalism, and grossly unfair.

A normal 3 day rock festival will have close to 50 sexual assaults. And I’m in a nice part of Canada.

Cologne had 24 rapes that night.

My city will top 200 this year.
That might have been the paper's bad motives for running this article, but it wasn't my bad motive for starting this thread.

Yeah? Well it reminds me of the paralyzing shame and fear of being tagged a "racist" that led to the UK police's wholesale failure to protect very young females if the sexual exploitation was committed by a Muslim man.

"The Three Girls" documentary from the BBC explains what happened.

Nobody -- NOBODY -- should be above the law.

I’m a big believer that countries/cities get the immigrants they deserve.

You bring people in and give them the skills they need to succeed and they will succeed. You bring people in and slam them in a ghetto and call them criminals - you get generations of criminals.

And I feel like the evidence of this is overwhelming. It’s plain to see.

15,000 displaced Haitians crossed from the US into Quebec this year. The resettlement service found a turkey plant in rural Montreal that was desperate for French speaking unskilled labour to work a rough job in a cold meat locker. They bussed hundreds of young men up to the plant. They’ll make 14 bucks an hour, union benefits, so long as they’re willing to work, and a private business saved itself from bankruptcy in Quebecs labour shortage.

Some of these men were in the US for five years on welfare because they couldn’t get work permits or any real status. They each have two or three dependents. That’s a thousand people being productive and paying income and sales taxes. Their kids will take advantage of Quebec’s universities and be bankers and lawyers and engineers. Or turkey plant workers. Or whatever.

Meanwhile here in BC we put our refugees in homeless shelters with drug addicts and chronic property thieves. Guess what we created.

The role of government is to spend communal money to solve big problems. Not boorishly take tax money and spend it on their buddies then shout about how foreigners are to blame for all our problems.
