1). Increase in population: is the perceived increase concomitant with population growth?
2). What communities exist where this is most prevalent.
3). What is the prevailing political leaning of these groups
Then you may be able to make such a call, but to blame a social phenomenon on a political belief without providing valid evidence is fatuous.
