And that's precisely why it IS happening again and yet again! This absurdity to not legislatively correct this egregious continuing problem needs to be addressed posthaste! If the states continue to not do anything about it as they are now doing it is time for the Federal Government to step in to save people from needless death by enacting nationwide legislation to provide for harsh punishments for those who do things in a manner not conducive to good health and medical practices.

And, if this child had a serious heart condition -- the parents' claim that she was perfectly healthy notwithstanding -- using general anesthesia on her outside a hospital seems irresponsible.
The procedure was performed in a surgery center. An Anesthesiologist would be on sight. We really have no clue of the condition of the toddlers teeth, maybe the tooth was saved and capped because most of the teeth were rotten and they saved it so the baby could eat. It is unfair to go for the Dentist's throat unless you know the condition of the toddlers teeth and how much neglect caused the decaying of them at 3 years old. It may not be the toddlers heart, it could have been a reaction to anesthesia...which no doctor can predict. This is why patients who go under anesthesia sign a informed consent, in this case the Mother signed it.

Are t you the one pontificating about innocent till proven guilty? You have no idea what the story is but yet you already convicted him of killing a child because of greed.

    All good points.

An investigation is now under way. Questions will be answered.

The dentist simply gave me a couple of local anaesthetic injections, and I didn't feel a thing during the procedure. Why on earth would you put someone out for a simple procedure such as dentistry? I have a couple of friends who are doing Medicine at the same uni where I am doing Law, and they tell me that a general anaesthetic should be avoided in any circumstances short of major surgery. It is particularly risky for the very young and the very old.
Why on earth would you put a 3 year under to do dental work? Oh, I don' t know, you expect a 3 year old to not move, squirm, cry and not be traumatized when dental work is being done, particularly an extraction?

What a horseshit OP title, claiming the dentist killed a 3 year old. MY god this OP sure loves to make batshit crazy claims

If we wait for the authorities to make all the judgements we can at least judge the authorities.
