It's more like saying that we have a serviceable car that will get us where we want to go. We'd like to replace it with a Porsche, but we don't have one to replace it with, so let's talk about getting rid of the old car anyway. Maybe someday we'll get that Porsche.

    Mr. Dittohead Not,

You mean a serviceable car that is costing us $500/month in car payments, $100/month in insurance, $200/month in gas, $150/month in maintenance, all the while our other bills are such we are only paying the minimum on our credit cards.

That analogy would work if, but only if, the ACA were costing more than whatever the non plan we used to have was costing. There is no such thing as free health care, or free anything else.

It breaks down because costs haven't been going up any faster than they were before Obamacare. The increasing costs are due to other factors, obviously.

If that old car is really costing that much, we need to get rid of it and ride a bike for a while until we can afford a car.

    Mr. Dittohead,

The ACA is costing significantly more that what was there previous. You just don't see it because the deadbeats are sucking off the government tit as the federal debt keeps increasing.

Your statement doesn't match the facts.

Check out the graph on this page and show where health care costs rose dramatically when the ACA was passed
