Obamacare is broken and democrats gleefully want to keep it

They have absolutely no idea on how to fix this disaster other than throwing more taxpayer money in the form of subsidies to insurers.

    That will never fly.

This issue alone, as it continues to worsen, will sink them in 2018 and 2020.

When President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act*seven years ago, he saddled Americans with a healthcare system that put the ultra-liberal agenda ahead of our best interests. We were promised that Obamacare would bring down healthcare costs with*increased competition between insurance providers. We were promised we could keep our healthcare plans. We were promised that Obamacare would not raise middle class taxes. Instead, the law brought the American people rising premiums, unaffordable deductibles, fewer insurance choices*and higher taxes. We were let down.
Then, in 2014, Nancy Pelosi sought to defend the collapsing law by claiming its success should be measured by the number*of people who had access to affordable healthcare and its ability to lower skyrocketing costs.

By Pelosi’s own standards, Obamacare has been an unmitigated failure.
This year alone, Obamacare premiums have gone up by an average of 25%, and in some places have risen by*over 100%. Individuals have insurance that they cannot afford — high deductibles distort the meaning of coverage. Under the two most popular Obamacare health plans, thousands of families have been forced to shoulder burdensome deductibles equivalent to 10%*and 6% of the median American household income. This is not affordable.

Obama’s promise of “choice” has turned out to be fiction for people living in more than 1,000 counties who are left with one insurance provider on their state exchanges. No one can deny Obamacare is in a ‘death spiral’ when the number of Americans with only one insurer from which to choose jumps from 2% to 17% in one year. This is not choice.

Perhaps because it's better than what went before, and still better than Trumpcare.

Trumpcare is irrelevant, it never passed and never will.

And if you are planning to run on "its better than before", good luck with that.

That is a horrible campaign tactic.

"Yeah we know it sucks but its better than nothing", lol.

Besides, the democrats are on record claiming what a great program this was......that is what you will have to run against, not whether its better than before.

That's not how it was sold to the American people.

This is an opinion piece....but I'm sure you think it is all factual. It is not a disaster...according to the millions who can now see drs, and to the CBO. IT NEEDS WORK but rather than work on it, they would rather see millions and millions of Americans suffer.

Isn't the main problem with ACA that medical cost are going up? So why is not increasing premiums to cover the increases of sick people coming to ACA and to ever-increasing costs of medical treatments and drugs a viable option?

If you totally eliminate one of the fixes...then why ask how to fix ACA.

Nothing the GOP has proposed addresses the rising costs of medical treatments and drugs. All repealing ACA does is to lower the tax burden on those making over 250K a year income.

So if you can't explain how increasing premium subsidies for those 25% of ACA participants whose premiums will rise is a bad thing...then the increase in premiums is a viable plan to keep insurers solvent in the ACA market places.

And of course the PPACA is not in death spiral. Just another lie by a our resident pseudo Phd paid troll/shill. If you believe this you probably believe Social Security is on the verge of insolvency which it isn't.

It's just another step in the journey to single payer.

It'll happen, it's just a matter of when.

OK, now back to the bitching and moaning and whining and crying...

The GOP had to lie to the people to get this far in repeal. Trump constantly repeating the most moronic of lies muddies the water even further. GOP cant tell Donald ...dial it back mr. President.

Just like the GOP didn't mind the 'implication' that President Obama wasn't America...Trump went full-on moron by the whole birther move.

Trumpcare is not irrelevant...it is non-existent.

Who said it sucked? I've never heard anyone on ACA say it sucked.
