You know that's not actionable, surely.

Do you think this is due to the retires or what we call baby boomers? We have large numbers of aging Americans currently. Do you think Brexit will help or make this worse?

Your title says single payer. Canada has a single payer system.

Single-payer health care means you might be denied surgery for being too fat -- no, really | Fox News
And how many people in United States do not get the drugs or surgeries they want because they can't afford it due to the insane costs of our healthcare system?

My point is our system doesn't allow for everyone to get the healthcare options they want either.

In any case: a Single Payer system would not prevent private markets for healthcare. So private surgeons could still provide surgeries not covered by the public system if they wanted.

Actually single payer healthcare means you should NOT be denied surgery for being too fat and/or poor.

Single payer means you might be denied elective surgery if you’re too fat or too poor. But what private insurance provider is going to cover high risk elective surgery.

As if private insurance companies are so overly frivolous and generous that the British NHS is somehow unique in not covering highly ridky elective surgeries.

Canada does not have the same system as the UK which is what this story is about.
