    Wooooooooow!

This is the worst medical mistake I ever heard of!!

A Russian woman was embalmed alive when doctors unwittingly put her on a formaldehyde-based drip instead of a saline during a surgery, according to a report Sunday.

Ekaterina Fedyaeva, 27, died from the gruesome medical blunder in which her veins were pumped full of the chemical, which is generally used to prevent the decomposition of corpses, according to the UK Sun.
“This is pure murder,” her mother, Galina Baryshnikova, said, according to the paper. “[It] was simply eroding her body from inside.

It took days for her to die.

She suffered pain and convulsions for two days before falling into a coma and being rushed to a hospital in Moscow, her mom said, according to the paper.

“Her legs were moving, she had convulsions, her whole body was shaking,” Baryshnikova said.”I put socks on her, then a robe, then a blanket, but she was shivering to such an extent, I can’t even describe it.”

Someone would think that a colorant could be added to chemical that are not to be ingested or pumped into a living body.

Green is not a natural medication color.

Russia has good health care, if you are someone important enough for Putin himself to visit you at hospital, say, an Olympic athlete

    or a military general

For the average Ivans, however, things are far worse:

Russian doctors and nurses pose next to dying patients | Daily Mail Online

This surgical blanket was, somehow, by some idiotic accident, left INSIDE a young mom in St. Petersburg in 2016, after she gave birth by Caesarean

The selfies, mentioned in that article, are a big issue.

Back in 2014, this surgical assistant nurse in Nizhny Tagil was fired for taking selfies at work, with carved up patients (as was, later on, the surgeon, who allowed this behavior)

Some people actually defended the nurse and Dr., claiming both had saved many lives before, and didn't deserve to be canned for some simple humor on the job...

Same year, a student nurse in Kazan, Tatarstan, was disciplined for selfies with human organs

GRAPHIC CONTENT: Student nurse disciplined after gruesome selfies with human organs

In 2015, in Belgorod, a doctor BEAT a patient to death, after the man allegedly made inappropriate sexual advances to a nurse, who happened to be Dr.'s own sister

Of course, one must mention that medical workers themselves routinely face aggression and violence from patients and relatives of patients and such, in Russian hospitals.

Here, for instance, is an X-ray technician, who was beaten the crap out of in 2016 by an enraged man who was upset that he was taking too much time to take care of his sister, at a clinic in the suburbs of Moscow

The woman is the sister. She was begging her brother to stop, before he kills the poor guy...

And all for shit pay too: Russian Doctors Paid Less Than Fast Food Workers

Basically, the health system there has huge, HUGE problems...

So you've never heard of the tens of thousands haemophiliacs becoming infected with HIV?

Russia already has an HIV epidemic, man, and it has very little to do with hemophiliacs...

This is different. This reminds of the fact that people are sometimes afraid of being buried alive. It was a real fear for a lot of people as recently as the Victorian Era and later.

A story appeared this week in northern Greece about a woman who seems to have smothered to death inside her coffin. People visiting a Peraia cemetery heard banging and muffled shouts from inside a freshly dug grave. Startled, they notified police and began to dig to try to save her.
Too late. The woman, 45, whose funeral had taken place that day, had died from suffocation.

The doctor who’d certified the death was adamant that the decedent could not have alerted anyone. "I just don't believe it," this doctor reportedly stated. "We did several tests, including one for heart failure.” The woman had been in a state of rigor mortis, the physician insisted, which would have made it impossible for her to move or shout.

Yet it seems like an odd thing for cemetery visitors to just make up.

And it does happen. Near the end of 2000, in Kazakhstan, a man who’d been electrocuted was wrapped in a cloth before being buried in a shallow grave. He lay there for two days before he revived and dug himself out. He flagged down a car and went home, where he discovered his relatives indulging in his funeral feast.
Such fears have diminished with improved medical procedures, but we still hear stories like the one in Greece. I know of at least two in the past decade of people waking up in body bags who were thought to be dead. Right here in America.
