No. I'm saying I'll be at Central Services picking up literature for one of my groups later this week and i want to read this piece of literature you refer to. You have a name or title?
Really? You think just because something is posted on the internet it must be true? REALLY?
Not sure where you think the information is going to come from, other than the internet? Why do you think I told you to take your pick?
I found this one particularly interesting myself....Comments on A.A.'s Triennial Surveys
Reminds me of the joke a Comedian told about his cousin.
My cousin used to smoke like a chimney and couldn't stop.
He tried the patch, didn't help.
tried the gum, didn't help.
tried hypnotism, didn't help.
Know what helped him quit? that thing with the needles..what do they call it?
(someone in the audience says..acupuncture) No not acupuncture, the other thing..what do they call it?
Oh ya, Heroin. he LOVES it.. LOVES it, we can't keep him off it. BUT he doesn't smoke anymore.
If I had a chance to drop some cid after over 2 decades, would that be a good idea?
There is plenty of quantitative information available from the Drug Courts.
As you know, the first part of drug court is "sentencing" to either AA or NA, usually either 10, 30, or 90 meetings depending on the severity of the offense.
The Drug Courts are all over the country, but here is one from Virginia:
So, I would suggest that AA is in fact astoundingly effective compared to the alternatives, and that it can be made even more effective by combining it with an active legal behavior modification program. .Virginia's Drug Court felony recidivism rate is 5.9% as compared to a 50% felony recidivism rate for other Virginia drug offenders handled in traditional ways of probation or incarceration.
