Glad I heard everyone else's suggestions before I went off on my rant about Google's changes.

Y'all made me aware of some interesting outlets.

And if anyone can defend the changes and explain how they really are an improvement, I'd appreciate it .
I started using Google News about 2 years ago and I'm not sure what changes they made. I like the aggregation of news stories from all the varied sources and then I also like the Editors' Picks about a quarter of the way down the page on the right. Click the little arrow and it gives you tons more articles at at various outlets. I'm not sure what you dislike about it. I use it on my tablet a lot. That might be a tighter layout for you.

... and get kind of pissed off, because they have made it harder, and it LOOKS like less content. And I don't give a crap about their "insights". I wanted the easily accessible, numerous, wide-ranging headlines they used to have without making you go hunting for them.

... maybe when I'm done being pissed off I'll look at them again and see if I can find said controllers.

I don't like my news to lie to me. Whether it's the networks or the aggregators.

    don't have one.

real clear politics is great place to see stories and opinions from both sides of the political spectrum.

Yeah, I consult RCP often. Well, I used to, but I'm backing away from the partisan U.S.-centered politics so I'm down to checking 'em maybe once a week.

Now the highlight area on the left is gone and there's so much white space you have to scroll and scroll to get to the stories. No more "take in a lot at once glance". And when I scroll ... and scroll and scroll ... the remaining content is so sparse that it doesn't seem worth the extra effort.

Maybe I'll get used to it and start to like the new format, but right now, it is not for me. That's why I'm looking for new sites.
I know exactly what you mean and agree.
