I also think he was spot on to suggest we take a closer look at the type of foreign aid we are providing. Some foreign aid was implemented a long time ago and may have run it's course. That is one of the problems with Congress. They don't do diligence with the legislation and funding they enact to make sure it's current or relevant.
Nothing is ever upgraded or changed. I agree we need to work on fixing this country.as I sais in my previous post a good share of the Congress is tine deaf. They passed a massive 60 billion Military budget to fund the wars. Today they are fighting tooth and nail to take health care away.

We vastly need a Huge Infrastucture bill that would put people to work all over the country in good paying jobs, bring in massive
    Amounts of tax revenue.

Yet Congress wants tax cuts, disguised as tax reform.

I really hope Rohr and others will join in without discussing Politics, just what we need to do.

They really liked his UN speech yesterday when he said "every country should put their own people first."
But as I stated, baj, Trump talks a good game, but is not doing what he says.

Do they get that? Anyone can stand up and mouth words, but we need action.

Trump promised good health care for all. But is backing a bill that takes it away. To be honest,Trump has no idea what is in the bill,he just wants to sign something that makes him look good.

Union members used to have lifetime benefits. That is not longer a certainty for Union members,or any one else.

That does not negate the fact I wopish Democrats would refocus on their voters, instead of fixing all the ills of the world, first.

    Ain't gonna happen.

C'mon now. Fox News viewers don't care about tragedies in Mexico. There's a lot of bad hombres down there.

That's part of the problem, they don't think either side represents them. They want work and they don't trust either side. Some had been traveling down to Boston for union work, but now they chose non union day workers over unions. So many are out of work again. They don't think day labor should prevail over unions but so many think they deserve a chance. Its kind of crazy. The problem up here for them is towns wont pass budgets allowing work for them either. We have so many roads that need repairs and paving but the taxpayers keep voting it down. Its become a systemic problem.

Are you talking just television because they had it on their website right away as the top story.

They are still covering it from a number of different angles today.

Personal conjecture, based on nothing more, nothing less, than bitter, partisan, generalization:

They may have discussed in more in depth, and I just missed it (I was NOT spending a LOT of time at any of the four networks, but, I did keep "checking in," after watching Anderson Cooper for a bit.)

Still, my BIG problem with ALL of the Cable News Networks, is how much time they devote to nothing BUT Partisan, Domestic Politics. And seriously....it is the same old, same old, every day of the week.....

Instead, I spent most of the night watching You Tube videos about the military strengths, technologies and economies of several nations in the world. (Along with a few Red Hot Chili Pepper's videos....)

When you spend time abroad, the extreme insularity of the US media universe becomes especially clear. Watch German TV or Italian TV, and maybe half the coverage will be about the home country, another quarter about other European countries, and the final quarter about the wider world. In the US, it's about 95% about us -- generally if news from abroad slips in, it's because of the domestic political associations, because there's a partisan argument about it (e.g., news about Iraq or Israel.) Take a story that hasn't become a partisan pawn in the US (like, say, the plight of the Rohingya people, or Burundian refugees being slaughtered in the DRC), and it'll be hard to find even a snippet of coverage on CNN, and maybe impossible to find it on Fox News.

Fox is essentially a propaganda organ of the Republican Party. So, unless a story can be made to serve a propaganda purpose for the Republicans, they figure there's no point covering it.

    Well, it's RATINGS, I suppose.

But, they don't need to spend all night on it.
