Still, my BIG problem with ALL of the Cable News Networks, is how much time they devote to nothing BUT Partisan, Domestic Politics. And seriously....it is the same old, same old, every day of the week.....

Instead, I spent most of the night watching You Tube videos about the military strengths, technologies and economies of several nations in the world. (Along with a few Red Hot Chili Pepper's videos....)
Yeah that's one of the reasons I got rid of cable.

    OAN covered it.

FOX was....surprise! surprise!...discussing the malaise of domestic politics.

THIS is the sort of thing, I am on about, when it comes to the media.

There is more to our world than Democrats, Republicans, and partisan arguments.
Where have you been? The depth and breadth of stories they've missed over the years is staggering.

In the US, it's about 95% about us -- generally if news from abroad slips in, it's because of the domestic political associations, because there's a partisan argument about it (e.g., news about Iraq or Israel.) Take a story that hasn't become a partisan pawn in the US (like, say, the plight of the Rohingya people, or Burundian refugees being slaughtered in the DRC), and it'll be hard to find even a snippet of coverage on CNN, and maybe impossible to find it on Fox News.

Fox is essentially a propaganda organ of the Republican Party. So, unless a story can be made to serve a propaganda purpose for the Republicans, they figure there's no point covering it.
Come on,Arkady, join the discussion about both sides of the spectrum.

I assume you did not see Kerry and Albright this morning. They are good at what they do, but my party is failing, getting out there and discussing about everything the average person in this country is concerned about!

That attitude gave us Trump. Bernie had good ideas, but is not a Democrat. Trump talked constantly about the worker. So did Bernie. We have to change the attitipude of our spoke people so the average man can understand.

    Yes, thanks for that.

But, my point can actually be applied to ALL of them.

I just called FOX out, because last night was such a good example of what I am on about.

And, until this year, I had high hopes for CNN, but, they have utterly failed me.

Ironically, the CHIEF "NEWS Anchors" from both FOX and CNN are pretty damned good. (Shep Smith and Anderson Cooper.)

But, my higher opinion of them may be due to the fact that they are NEWS ANCHORS, not political commentators.

The media pushed us into war with Iraq.

    That's correct.

Shepard Smith is very good, here's a great example of what he does and taking full responsibility.

Rohr, maybe I should not have changed the subject on your top post. I apologize, but it is getting hard to even top post with the 24 hour spamming.

    ??????????????

I don't think you changed the subject.

Although, that does tend to happen in a conversation! (ROFLMAO...UNLESS you are one of the 24/7 Cable News networks, and the topic is Domestic Partisan Politics!)

If anyone gets "off topic," we just need to get back "on topic."

    No biggie.

I don't buy it. If you look at the transcripts from Hillary Clinton's campaign events, she talked constantly about workers -- far more than Trump, who mostly wanted to talk about himself, and about the scary Muslims and Mexicans and black crime, etc. It's just that the media won't cover someone like Hillary Clinton doing a policy speech about issue impacting the American worker. It doesn't make for entertaining TV.

But that was the problem. Trump shouted what angry voters felt.

Hillary was shouted down. You have to understand the mentality of these people. This anger and rage was feeding them.

That is not to say it was right. Hillary could have talked herself blue in the face. That would not have helped. She needed to get angry, too. Of course the right wing would have gone after her. The truth is,the magic is gone. People want angry. Most of those voters do not remember the Clinton years. The new, angry generation.
