I have been sick of the press for a long time. More often than not these media outlets function as nothing but businesses out to tweak a narrative in order to sell their product to the public.

    Phooey!

True. But it's always been a profit driven industry. The one exception was when TV and radio depended on airwaves that were owned by the general public and they were obligated to provide news as a service and in many cases news divisions actually were money losers and TV stations depended on entertainment programming to make up for it. Cable news and talk radio haven't been good for disseminating truth.

Well MSM has lost whatever remained of the veneer of impartiality. Other media doesn't really purport to be impartial from the get go. Not a new phenomenon of course, but we can't pretend they aren't political participants because they obviously are.

That's because the 8-11pm hour on all cable news networks is commentary. So people naturally figure out which network leans which way based on that. As far as just straight news, BBC and CBC is what I normally watch. They give the news all over the world in relatively brief time. Then when I go back to watching any American news, its like watching the National Enquirer on tv. Truly sad.

But, because of their own reporting, we know that they knew full well that wasn't the case. They knew, as any professional journalist would, that this was a game involving a team that had taken a knee in the past, against the expressed objections of the current administration. They knew what they were being asked to do. Yet, they willingly went along with it.

    Why?

Why don't we have any journalist in this country willing to stand their ground with this administration? Willing , at a moment like that, to say "no" to this administration. To ask..."why are we being told not to cover this event", on camera?

    Why?
NOPE! Not even remotely. I AM sick of the FAKE 'press'. Hannity is the NEW boy of the sycophantic poster fake press! He supplants OReilly. Bannon is the new CRAZY poster boy for the fake press. Bannon doesn't supplant anyone, he is in the LONG LINE of batshit crazies! Right up there with Alex Jones. Made up bullshit right out of their OWN sick conspiratorial minds.

This attack is dangerous. BUT THEY WON'T WIN! CONGRESS didn't bring NIXON down, the press did. And the 2 NEWSPAPERS (ironic, huh) are here 40 years later and are going to do it again. They don't have to make up a single syllable.

If you don't like the new CABLE news model, then look no further than FOX. There would be NO MSNBC if there hadn't been FOX. Aisles is laughing his ass off from the grave. He created it, it manipulated it, with a willing benefactor (Murdoch) and an even more willing political party, the GOP. They've had a 23 year run and they got some competition along the way. Don't LIKE IT, look to Aisles and the GOP!!

There is no alternative to a free press.
Just watch the daily WH press briefings to see the alternative.

Their job is to report the news and this was the news.

They wouldn't be very good if they started to not cover stuff.

The 1% that owns corporate America is already "standing their ground" thru the mainstream media, all corporate owned by the way. What more could you want than 80 to 90% negative coverage?

Well, they've been "not covering stuff" for decades already.
