That attitude goes a long way toward explaining why we have the disaster that currently resides in the White House.
It wasn't a small mistake. He tried to change the outcome of an election with a story based on forgeries. Either that was out of malice or he didn't fulfill the most basic responsibility of a journalist. Either way, this was not little.

Don't think there would be on to satisfy you.

Your apparently willing to over look all the lies O'Reilly made over the years and Fox still kept him.

While both Williams and Rather owned up to their lies and were punished for it.

But that's what reputable news organizations do.

Just because Rather made a mistake does not mean he less effective at calling as he sees it.

And the fact that half of the US does not have faith in our free press should scare the crap out of anyone.

Exactly, that's why he deflects, whines, tries to change the topic when anybody make an argument counter to his. This is the tell tale sign someone is lacking facts and an actual argument. They basically admit they concede to the other side when they do this

And everything I said in my original post is right on topic. The people that often claim media (and universities/science/universe) bias only watch Fox news and flock to the most obviously biased websites and blogs, so they lack any credibility. Seriously, its just like Trump claiming "crooked Hillary" when he's the one who is crooked, just like most of the things he says about others that fit him perfectly. Because Trump is the ultimate troll

Blues63, try to keep it to only one sentence, and keep it at a 5th grade level, maybe he'd consider that to be well constructed.

But you are right, there really is no point any more. this is what the forum has become, right wingers who can't make an argument and just go around deflecting and posting their stupid one liners

This wasn't simply dismissing something as fake news. Dan Rather actually literally tried to push a news story based on forged documents.
We had docugate last time we had a Republicans President.

Now we have the pee pee dossier with the next Republican President.

Are we seeing a pattern here?

There's a very simple response. Admit that it's ridiculous to dig up Dan Rather and present him as some kind of spokesman for media veracity.

Oh my God! You come in here grunting about Fox News and then cry about deflection.

HAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! You don't even know, do you? That's the funniest part. You don't even know how stupid and hypocritical that it is.
