"Of those who make less under their contracts, they mostly tossed those who had been openly critical of the president," the source said. "It seems to have been a cost saving measure, but the deciding factor between any two people seems to have been who liked the president and who didn't."

Salem had no immediate comment. But an internal memo obtained by CNNMoney confirmed the housecleaning.

Well, that sounds fair and balanced. Ooops, wrong slogan. That one's already taken.

Tough to even posture that you still have any integrity after making a move like that.
To be fair, it's redstate so it's possible the subscribers aren't big fans of the writers who are critical of Trump either. I don't know how Ann Coulter gets away with it.

Probably for the same reasons some wonder how the hell the President of the United States of America gets away with his daily BS......but, it seems almost every media outlet keeps a token or a few token "opposition" folks around, if for no other reason than to spar in print or on camera, perhaps hoping their leaning (which seems strange for any person or organization to have (and even claim to have) and still claim to be fair and just), will be shown to be "superior".

I'm amazed at the WSJ more recently and its shots at Trump. "Balanced" if not "fair", is shown, not told. FOX News had a brilliant byline with "you decide", but still has stuck with blatantly using words like "liberals" and trying to paint an opposing portrait, in spite of suggesting at the same time they are "fair and balanced".

It reminds me of catching people red handed at doing something and in some cases having their first reaction (knowing full well they were caught red handed), apparently believing it was worth a try was to claim they weren't doing, what they were totally caught, doing as if someone might believe the absurdity that they were not caught, especially by more than one witness, doing what they were denying doing.

It reminds me of a Monty Python routine about what what someone did or did not do.

You saw the line I laughed at: "insufficiently supportive of Trump"

I knew Red State was going to take major hits for not slavishly falling in line, and so did you.

That doesn’t make it any more amusing that friends and co-workers lost their jobs.

Very good point. The American right feels more an more totalitarian the deeper we get into the Trump swamp.

It is all so very weird, because they are demanding more and more ideological purity, but their only governing ideology these days appears to be loyalty to the person of Donald Trump.

Downright creepy, if you ask me.
