    Cosby is old.

More importantly, he's probably very wealthy.

He's got some of the best lawyers that money can buy.

And we saw what better lawyers can do in the OJ Simpson trial...

Even if Cosby loses, he'll appeal.

Probably never see the inside of a jail...

I consider what he did more a result of mental illness than criminal intent.
Maybe some jurors are equally conflicted.

    And a possible retrial.
If this is a mistrial, IMO justice demands Cosby not be retired unless the DA can produce material, newly discovered evidence.

The odds of a conviction fall dramatically in 2nd trials, and this is an elderly man. It is wrong to literally hound him to death of the evidence of his guilt just cannot be found.

    Innocent until proven guilty.

What evidence persuaded you he was guilty?

That is justice. The tragedy is not that Cosby gets too much due process.

It's that 99% of Americans charged with a crime get too little.

This is a dicey question. A paraphelia like sex with unconscious people is not viewed as a mental illness as long as that person can function in ordinary life.

If these complaining women consented, then Cosby's behavior is unusual but not maladaptive.

The "news" media said a retrial is possible, and the victim sounded like she would be for it.

    We should find out soon...

It really is a key point. If Cosby "slipped her a mickey" without her knowledge it would be pretty straightforward. If she was aware and consciously took the pill it complicates the prosecution.

On a nightly basis guys try to get their dates loosened up with liquor or party drugs to increase their chances of "getting lucky". Just a reality for the last 50+ years.

This one isn't an easy call.

A retrial could depend on what the jury vote was that got deadlocked. If it was 11 to convict with one holdout, the DA might retry. If the other way around, he might not. (For example.)
