Right, but if we wait until conviction to seize the money won't that give the criminal access to it to spend on a dream team of lawyers and well piss it away before convictions?

Actually, that is exactly what the conversation is about. Police seizing money obtained through ill gotten gains.

Anything can be justified if no moral or ethical issues are considered.

Let me guess, you are on the side of the criminals and lawbreakers on this? Why am I not surprised?

I am on the side of the Constitution, it seems you are not.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

You fight for the criminals. I get it. You want them to keep their ill gotten bounty.

And you are OK with law enforcement seizing any property they feel like seizing, regardless of guilt.

No, I am in favor of law enforcement seizing and retaining property that is believed to have been gained through illegal means until it can be brought before a court.

I think no one is a criminal until they are convicted in a court of law. Many people have to spend years fighting to get back their property after being acquitted, only to fail.

So you are on the side of the criminal, as well. Noted.
