No, we are on the side of law, not brigandage and autocratic assumptions of guilt like some third world banana republic. Unless you are naïve enough to think there is no corruption or malfeasance among the countries law enforcement agencies and personnel? In your world there is no such thing as a "crooked cop", is there?

    Thanks from Friday13

SD is of the "let the cop be the judge, jury and executioner ilk".

I couldn't care less about your illiterate note taking.

How do you figure someone is a criminal if they have been acquitted? Many times the "criminals" are never even charged with a crime. Did you even bother to read your OP?

But in many cases, neither a criminal conviction nor even a criminal charge is necessary — under forfeiture laws in most states and at the federal level, mere suspicion of wrongdoing is enough to allow police to seize items permanently...Since 2007, the Drug Enforcement Administration alone has taken more than $3 billion in cash from people not charged with any crime, according to the Justice Department's Inspector General.
I know, I know. You are submissive to law enforcement and the will of the state no matter who gets crushed in it's path. You remind me of the saying by Stalin "If you want to make an omelet you have to break some eggs."

I don't expect you to defend your shameless worship of law enforcement or your inability to criticize anything they do as wrong. You prefer to always be their yes man, nodding and smiling and hoping that will protect you. You don't care about the innocent.

"Asset forfeiture is a disputed practice that allows law enforcement officials to permanently take money and goods from individuals suspected of crime."

So if someone accuses me of being a witch, the government can take my house until I am able to prove I'm not?

Utterly horrific that this man can even talk about this openly without being hounded out of office by public outrage. What is wrong with Americans that they think authoritarianism that goes against everything the constitution stands for will cure the problem of drug addiction?

Are people incapable of understanding how addiction even works? You wouldn't do this shit to alcoholics, what is it about a different form of consciousness altering substance that makes so many drool at the prospect of treating them unfairly and stripping them of their civil rights?

If you wouldn't do this to a moonshiner you shouldn't do it to a drug dealer.
    Thanks from Friday13 and RedCloud

What is there to stop a disgruntled neighbor from calling the police and saying the people next door are drug dealers if the police aren't concerned with innocence or guilt when seizing property?
    Thanks from labrea

A judge. Just like when we arrest someone and put them in jail, where they sit (if unable to make bond) until a trial.
