Call it anything you like. "Baby" is not scientifically accurate, but IDC if you want to romanticize fetuses. Just stay out of your neighbor's business.

Especially when they are enduring the horrible tragedy of discovering the fetus is damaged.

We are certainly not financially sound enough to raise a child and afford the ongoing medical costs of caring for a special needs child.

Now, if you want to force us to assume that extra moral, and financial responsibility, then you - through your state government - are going to assume those costs that we were unprepared to assume, right?
If you can't afford it than turn it over to the state.

Down syndrome children are as lovely as any.

    They are not "damaged".

    What a disgusting attitude.

Do you go to a school play, see a down syndrome child, and think "there's something that should have been aborted"?

Ya, know, it never ceases to amaze me how anti-choice, anti-public assistance activists like yourself, suddenly are perfectly happy with spending thousands of dollars of tax-payer money to raise children, just so long as we also get to use the state to indoctrinate then through the State Machine.

So, you aren't about morality, or fiscal conservativism. You just want a state-sponsored army of blind sycophants. Nice...

Of course not. But I also recognize that a Down syndrome child represents a far greater burden* to parents than a child without serious genetic problems. I respect parents who are willing to take on such responsibilities. I also respect parents who recognize their limitations.

    * The word "burden" typically carries negative connotations, and that's not intended in this particular case.

Brilliant idea. I assume all the womb-bound Down's kids would register as Republicans.

I think rather than calling embryos babies I think they should call them adolescents and then they would be pro choice

Actually, they are "damaged". Trisomy 21 is a genetic disorder. It is, by definition, caused by damaged DNA. Hence, those with Down's syndrome are, by definition, damaged. It would be no different that calling a person with brain damage damaged. It would be, by definition, accurate.

    Don't forget that little part.
In exchange for this legislation, Republican families in Ohio have agreed to adopt and raise these babies.
