"...If there is anything that is disrespectful to the flag then we will not play," Jones said Sunday night, according to The Dallas Morning News.

That is hardly a clear statement of intent. Jones neither defined what he meant by "disrespectful to the flag", nor what he meant by "we will not play". I have found no quotes by Jerry Jones indicating that specific behaviors on the part of players will result in specific punishments.

At any rate, none of the Dallas Cowboys players have ever participated in protests during the playing of the national anthem, which I assume is what Jerry Jones is alluding to when he speaks of being "disrespectful to the flag".

No where does it say a player will not be paid or fired.

    This will fail.

I agree. Jones' threat was exceedingly non-specific. Seeing as how none of the players on his team have ever participated in protests during the playing of the national anthem, it was also an exceedingly meaningless threat.

What makes you think there will be any lawsuit? What is Wade Rathke's relationship to the Dallas Cowboys players?

I should have used the word "complaint", rather than lawsuit. Thanks for pointing out that error on my part.

I'm not arguing that the complaint filed against Jerry Jones with the National Labor Relations Board will result in a successful outcome for the claimant.

Why would it have to say that considering Jones is contractually obligated to pay the players regardless if they are on the field or the bench but he is not obligated to play them?

It wouldn't. I was merely pointing out the fact that you made the claim up from thin air in order to argue a point that is irrelevant to the situation.
