He's been the mofo in charge since 1989. Calling him a "Democrat" is bullshit.

He's clearly a massive failure as a lawyer, if this is true, but not because he ascended to his office via an election in which he ran as a Democrat, if he did.

IMO, DAs should be forbidden from running on any party's slate, the same way judges are.

    For the same reason.

From a justice POV, this is comparable to hearing news the air traffic controllers for YOUR flight were carrying on like guests at Caligua's while your plane was in the air!

If anyone in the Bronx got justice, it was an happy accident, not the product of professional, ethical, hard working prosecutors.

Every lawyer involved should be disbarred IMO, if these allegations are proven truthful.

You can pretend this has nothing to do with this guy being a Democrat, but rest of us are watching these Democrat circuses go on in every Democrat run strong hold in this Country.

Here's another shining example of what the Democrats are all about.

    FOCUS, please, Daddio.

If these allegations are truthful, what should happen to these guys, IYO?

Not even strip clubs have their employees carrying on this way, and prosecutors are the lifeblood of a county's criminal justice system. If any of them can be proven to have harmed a citizen whilst drunk by fucking up their case, I think these lawyers should be charged, criminally, if that harm to a citizen was severe enough.

Do you think I'm too harsh?

I think you're assuming everything this woman has claimed in 100% true without considering her motives.

Thank you. In my righteously indignant haste to post that Op, I did not clarify that:

Unlike most workplaces, in a DA's office, prosecuting attorneys have sometimes got liability for their co-workers' misconduct.

    IMO.

I'm confident any lawyer in that DA's office, who knew of another lawyer's horrible conduct, had a duty to report that breach of ethics to the state bar association.

Meaning, even the Bronx DA's lawyers who have conducted themselves as consummate professionals can't/couldn't ethically remain quiet about it.

As in, they should also face disbarment.

    IMO, anyway.

It's similar to lawyers in a law firm partnership, only one of whom is embezzling client funds. Her partners have a duty to report this horrible conduct to the state board, because they know of the crime and ALL the lawyers in a law firm owe a duty of care to ALL that firm's clients.

I doubt N.Y. state has a direct precedent to the alleged facts here, but that's how I would gamble the courts would rule, if the question were before them.

Every fucking lawyer who went to court drunk, etc. AND every fucking lawyer who knew about it but chose to keep silent, should be disbarred.

Depending on the facts, some should face prison time.

It's possible the other employees also have potential liability. There are certified law enforcement officers working there, as investigators. Even as to the administrative staff, I imagine NYC pensions include a "bad boy" clause, such that severe misconduct is grounds for forfeiting that pension.

I'm pissed as hell, and nobody else even seems animated about this thread. Does the average American really think this is the level of horseshit that should be expected from our prosecutors?

    That thought scares me.

@Wonderer, @Ian Jeffrey, @Leo2.....do you agree with me?
