I sure as fuck do, starting with the designation of any part of Denmark as a "ghetto". I see no reason whatsoever to think this will yield an increase in the number of law abiding immigrants.

    It's offensive as all fuck.

I am for deterrent-style sentencing only for laws which are difficult to enforce. Crimes that are hard to catch.

    Definitely not in this form.

All they are going to do is label these people and cause and inflame resentment on both sides...

Two wrongs don't make a right.

    Thx

Bullshit. The entire class of "non-European immigrants" is encoded in law as more dangerous than anyone else.

    Ghettos.....racial theories.....heavy law enforcement impact.....ugh.

The Danes have never lost their government. What Danes...like so many other Europeans have lost
is piece of mind. They have believed the rhetoric of a malice that does not exist.

Time after time after time hoax stories of marauding gangs of rapist immigrants have proven to be not only false, but a organized movement by anti-migrant Alt-Right groups.

I call you on your bullsit. Go to the areas and speak to the 98% of the residence that are not committing the crimes. They want to be protected from the 2% that are doing them. 100% are in the same situation but 2% are giving the whole of the community a bad name. Deal with the 2% harshly and the areas become safer and everybody is happy. 99% of criminals commit crimes in areas of convience to them, this puts a nail right though the head of convience. Take your bullshit about it being about race when even locals want it. They want to leave their homes and walk their neighbourhoods without fear of the 2% victimizing them.

This is deliberately targeting a minority, and it is wrong, period. All it will do, is increase the overrepresentation of these ethnic groups in the prison system. And that, in turn, will only further spread criminality amongst them. You cannot stereotype and stigmatize a whole group of people, and expect good results.

Indeed. Denmark will never get a decent Chinatown at this rate.

Again I call BS. You are making this about race as are people falling victim to the mentality that poverty alone leads to crime. Everyone in those neighbourhoods find themselves in similar situations. The criminals prey on the weak. It’s societies obligation to protect the weakest among us. The criminals are not the weakest, their victims are the weakest. The law does’nt discriminate against the burglar, the racist, the murder based on his race but rather it more harshly punished them for preying on people that have the least ability to protect themselves.Victims in high crime neighbourhoods don’t have the luxury of moving due to finances so you force the criminals to move or stop committing the crimes or they spend twice as much time behind bars if they get caught committing crimes in high crime neighbourhoods.

Guess what if it’s the white kid caught robbing a home in a high crime neighbourhood he gets twice the time too. It’s not the race of the burglar or the victim, it’s about the vulnerability of the neighbourhood based on hard statistics.

Yes, the residents of the high crime zone want crime reduced. I simply disagree that placing them into a legal category of "dangerous" accomplishes that, or if it could, that it is a rational or humane measure. What reduces crime best is fear of being caught. Increase police presence. Add to the capacity of courts and prosecutors.

Attack the root causes of crime: poverty, emotional distress, hopelessness, alienation. Treat mental health challenges -- don't you suppose anyone who has had to flee due to fear of war and then risk dying to reach Denmark is likely to have trauma-induced mental illness?

NONE of these is accomplished by blaming and shaming. It will deepen the suffering of the refugees and the crime problems attendant to that suffering if the official position of their new country is, they are not respected as individual human beings.

Whether or not this is true, no EU nation is free to use ANY measure it likes to fight crime because they must ALL respect the human rights of the "criminals". Killing burglars will arguably reduce crime, but is not permissible. Torture is not allowed. Imprisoning young men who have committed no crime until they are middle aged will reduce crime, and is not allowed.

Labeling humans in this way is inescapably racist, degrading and unfair. It is worrisome that this has to be explained to anyone who claims to be an American liberal.
