    Fair enough.
Original to what Thomas, Gorsuch, and Scalia say is original.

The Constitution has been changed 27 times. Or, if you count the Bill of Rights together (since they were ratified together), 18 times.

The original document allows for change. I'm still consistent.

Personally, I consider the first ten amendments to be part and parcel to the original document.

And it wasn't easy to change. Our founders did that intentionally. American politics has always been messy, even in our beginnings, there were brawls. I'm okay with that. When and if it gets changed, we will have had some consensus.

They realized there was nothing guaranteeing individual rights.

Well then an exact reading of the second Amendment means gun owners are 100% wrong. The saddest thing to watch is someone interpreting the bible and the Constitution.

Nope. There's no reason to believe all the other amendments were about personal freedoms and not 2A. "The right of the people to bear arms, shall not be infringed", couldn't be clearer.

Depends who you ask. Many thought a Bill of Rights was unnecessary, indeed feared it would be dangerous.
    Thanks from californiadecks and Isalexi
