In truth, I just plain hate party politics. If you understand them, how can you not? *shrug*

My bailiwick is ME geo-politics, specifically Islamic fundamentals, and its relationship with the West, since that issue has been forced on us. My studies started decades prior to 9/11, and have become, shall we say, timely.

I've been scanning the site, looks like a vibrant community. I look forward to meeting you and exchanging ideas and perspectives.
Welcome to the board Puffin (I like puffins,) - allow me to introduce myself. I am Leo - I have been here forever, and was once the board's enfant terrible. I am now an old man of 20, so no longer the enfant, but I have not yet given up on the terrible. So be afraid, be very afraid!

I am totally apolitical as far as party politics are concerned, and not being an American, I will give you little grief on the Republican/Democrat scene. But I look forward to discussing other, more important, issues with you.

    Welcome, welcome, and thrice welcome!
Thanks from Wonderer, puffin and Hollywood

Nope. Chronologically you are STILL the "enfant"...you are a prodigy...your "terrible" is usually wonderful.

We found it in Spooky's underwear drawer, under the naked pictures of Donald Trump.

Anyhooo.....Now as an Independent, I am referred to as a "liberal" by the neo republicans, which is not unexpected since the neo's appeared to have taken everything to the right, so what were moderate Republicans are now "liberals" and moderate Democrats are now considered communists. It seems, formerly radical liberals, aren't even considered by neo republicans, since communist rouses all the modern day Joseph McCarthy's the neo's need.

Being an Independent doesn't allow me to escape party politics as I get labeled as belonging to a party anyway.

No more boring you to death with my POV.....just join the fray and have fun!
The problem here is not with the Republicans. It is with the Democrats. The Democrats have swung wildly to the left since JFK & Hubert Humphrey. Neither of these men would be considered Progressive enough for today's Democratic Party.
    Thanks from puffin
