I seem to remember a commercial that was similar Nothing better than seeing your child having a good time when they are playing a sport.

I had a house full of varsity football players in my house for a couple of years. Great kids, loved the game and their team (including team managers and coaching staff). I miss those days, but now I just watch them on tv - at least a few of them - but I will always have those wonderful memories.

Bo Jackson's startling hindsight: 'I would have never played football'

“If I knew back then what I know now,’’ Jackson tells USA TODAY Sports, “I would have never played football. Never. I wish I had known about all of those head injuries, but no one knew that. And the people that did know that, they wouldn’t tell anybody.

“The game has gotten so violent, so rough. We’re so much more educated on this CTE stuff (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), there’s no way I would ever allow my kids to play football today.

“Even though I love the sport, I’d smack them in the mouth if they said they wanted to play football.

“I’d tell them, 'Play baseball, basketball, soccer, golf, just anything but football.’ ’’

Bo Jackson was the rare athlete who could have had a long career in football OR baseball.

If he had played only football OR baseball, who knows how long he may have played?

And...no one ever heard of CTE back in his day.

I don't think choosing one sport would've prevented the hip injury that day.

And...no one ever heard of CTE back in his day.
That was the whole point of what he said.

Yes but I would be very involved and only if he had a coach that was competent in teaching proper technique.

I would push them toward more useful sports such as Karate/Jujitsu ect.. I played football for a while, but became more involved in Isshin-Ryu

    Trivia question.

According to stories told by Cordell Hull Just prior to the Beginning of WW2. Hitler sent some of his generals over to the US to meet with our military....

Well during their visit, the Army Navy Football game was to be played the Generals asked the guest if they wanted to attend the game.

When Hitler's Military advisors returned to Germany... They said to Hitler You do not want to go to war with a nation that plays a game like this.

if Hitler had taken their advice.. How many millions of lives could have been saved by a football game.

    Absolutely.

I played it for 6 years and on more than one occasion I have been hit hard enough to see stars.

Tough it out, it builds character.

I have actually seen more head injuries while playing basketball than football because in football you have a helmet.

In basketball I have seen so many kids take an elbow straight down on their skull that they simply walked around in a daze.
