Javier Casas, 25,was holding his friend's .270 bolt action deer rifle, and when his friend tried to take the gun away from Casas the gun went off and the bullet hit Casas in the right calf.

Police say the two were intoxicated and no charges will be filed.

The mother and father arrived shortly after the boy entered a classroom in the northern Utah city of Bountiful and fired one round into the ceiling, injuring no one but leaving a hole the size of a small plate, Bountiful Police Chief Tom Ross said.

The suspect also pointed the shotgun at his own neck, Ross said.

The boy didn't say a word as a teacher and one of 26 students tried to talk him out of firing again, giving his parents a few extra second to arrive at the classroom and take him into the hallway, Ross said.

@thrilling, what exactly is your point with all the spam? To illustrate how guns are bad and they should be outlawed?

Notice nobody answered that they would be changing their gun habits.

Self-defense can be an important crime deterrent,”says a new report by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The $10 million study was commissioned by President Barack Obama as part of 23 executive orders he signed in January.

“Studies that directly assessed the effect of actual defensive uses of guns (i.e., incidents in which a gun was ‘used’ by the crime victim in the sense of attacking or threatening an offender) have found consistently lower injury rates among gun-using crime victims compared with victims who used other self-protective strategies,” the CDC study, entitled “Priorities For Research to Reduce the Threat of Firearm-Related Violence,” states.

I am providing current data, which is more appropriate than searching for the worst of the worst from years past. The information that is coming in is current. Thank you for taking the poll.

Just because you have taken it, does not mean the poll should close.

Utter bullshit, 38000? How do you get killed by a kitchen sink?

I'm by no means for outlawing guns but a few regs to keep any nut from buying one is a good idea and not in the slightest bit unconstitutional. And fucking idiots claiming more people die in car accidents tells me that person is a full fledged idiot. cars are a must, guns are not.
