Let the regions in and adjacent to the region handle the region. This crap of bombing innocent civilians, children, and caregivers with sophisticated air attacks is the real pox.

I am also concerned about the Turk's autonomous areas as well and how it makes Turkey's stated goal questionable. It is already very complicated but either way you make a good point. There is no up side in all this. There is only who deals with the region.
I wouldn't care if Russia started near-howitzering (eh, they probably use rockets) the Turks and forced them all the way back to the border.

The sail a fist ( salafi ) and every other fundamentalist fictional ishmaelism i slam fascist need not be in syria , but that is why assad ( as sad ) is under duress which is from a concerted effort to turn that government and territory into another regional theocracy , no matter which splinter group ultimately claims to tear it down .

So eye yam all behind russia sustaining as sad ( assad ) and for the US supporting the kurds and not any syrian rebels on behalf of the saudis and fuck the totalitarian sultan wanna be ear dog again ( erdogan ) and his idiot followers of turn key ( turkey ) , and fuck the salafi ( sail a fists ) , the wahhabi ( whack habitual ) and any supremacist fascists psychopath promoting the demented implementation of fictional ishmaelism i slam anywhere !

I am more of the mind that a concerted honest effort to remove the outsider terrorists trying to gain a foothold is essential. Russia (and Turkey to a lesser degree) have agendas that include more than that so it starts getting very muddy on the war front. If I had a say, the ideal thing would be everyone working off the same page but that is not going to happen thus we are left with my own 2nd pipedream of everyone out and let the region including Turkey take care of their regional interests. Granted when leaders kill or destroy their own sometimes the International group has to step in but right now it should have just been a clean target of only outsider terrorists and it isn't.

Russia is not a nice player. I'd add that even if the global community with the US wants Assad out they will be as bad as Russia if they actively attack innocent people to bomb Assad's strongholds. Nothing in that region is ever easy and these agendas from all outsiders makes it that much more complex. And you mentioned two important things, the factions at play and the history. Add in other country's agendas and it is not a good mix.

Fuck Erdogan. Turkey is there, primarily, to attack the Kurds. There would be a Kurdish genocide there already, if Russia didn't stand in their way...

In fact, Russia and Assad defend all the minorities in Syria.

Among the militias fighting for Assad is the Christian Sootoro brigade, which includes Assyrians, but, majority - my Armenian brothers

    and sisters too

That's who I support. And so does Russia. Sootoro actually have Russian advisors/volunteers among them, like "former" Spetsnaz officer Vyacheslav Korneev

I am sorry, but I have grown tired of reading about the Sunnis massacring others, in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Bahrain, Pakistan, etc. Massacring simply for their own Wahhabi interpretation of Islam. At least, in Syria, Assad, and Russia, are giving them back what they dished out earlier. They wanted a fight, a war? Now, they got it, congrats.

The FSA were destroying Armenian and Assyrian churches, killing priests, attacking people simply for their ethnicity and faith, until they took up arms and started to kill them back, with help of Assad and Putin. Who else to turn to, when the West supports the people who are attacking you and want to kill you?

Russia is a hot mess. Sorry but I see nothing positive in their current actions.

It may be that the your association with a cold war enemy of an atheist marxist communist russia is overshadowing the secular ethic of baathism which also includes some degree of national socialism specifically for arabs .

But do not be confused , the premise of arab nationalism and a belief in social benefactors through government is common place among the controlling theocracies .

The remaining issue is whether antinomianism and non aggression principles of secularism are to be secured abroad as a greater social virtue than the authoritarian individual negative liberty confiscating fictional nomian theism .

Should global policy secure US first amendment forms in constitutions of allies ?

    * And Well *

Of course reserve currency , competing economies and ideological issues are all relevant .
