For women it is a very scary thing to know that if they do nothing to help support themselves and their family, death, illness, or divorce can fling them into poverty and in some cases, make them homeless. The biggest issue for women is if you come into the marketplace later in your life you come into it at entry level competing with 20 and 30 somethings. That is the choice women make. It is easier to stay home but I believe many who do it have some fear because it can be dangerous. Many educated women in today's generation know that. In the end women decide and there is no looking back as you can't undo choices easily.

Yeah you're right. The men of today don't have the balls our mothers had.

So the peak in gender history was the 1950's as experienced by the Ward and June Cleaver socioeconomic class in America? Or are you referring to the traditions of some other socioeconomic class from that era?

What makes the 1950's better than both the 1850's and the 2000's?

Lets remember that it was socialist programs like child labor laws that got kids out of the factories of the mid-19th century. Not to mention minimum wages and working standards where men could earn a living wage so that kids could go to school and mom could care for them.

    thank you FDR.

We had our chance to elect our first woman president but our archaic electoral college allowed us to continue with tradition, in spite our new knowledge of the diversity of human biology which forced us to break from the traditional way we look at gender.

I am part of the growing group of American men who date foreign women because they are willing to accept me as a man instead of trying to break me like a horse the way American women do.

That's not really true, women left the home to build munitions during WWII and never really returned to the hearth. In fact, the whole concept of the TV dinner was based on the new American lifestyle of two incomes, moreoever,, in the 1950's steering wheels were re-engineered for the feminine hand.
