Depends on the definition of "worked".

If by "worked" you mean it allowed N Korea to get nukes and now ICBM's, then, yes, it has "worked".

Damn, you people don't expect Lord Lard-Ass to take responsibility for ANYTHING, do you? It's ALWAYS someone else's fault.

Ok, you boys have a cool new little meme, "nice until it's time to not be nice." Knowing you kids, that has to be either from a video game or a 2nd rate action movie, which is it?

No, it's checkers. Trump isn't smart enough for chess. He's already shown that in dealing with Putin.

Lets remember that proposed deal was to be with Kim Il Sung. He died and his son took over...Kim Jong Il

Can't really blame Clinton for trying to form a treaty with NK when Kim Jong Un was 10 years old.

    You're right.

    Clinton should get the credit.

N Korea has nukes and now ICBMs.

    Thanks Clinton!

    So I looked this up.

President Clinton approved a plan today to arrange more than $4 billion in energy aid to North Korea during the next decade in return for a commitment from the country's hard-line Communist leadership to freeze and gradually dismantle its nuclear weapons development program.

    *snip*

The accord calls for a consortium of nations, led by South Korea and Japan, to provide the North with two light-water nuclear reactors, designed in a manner that makes it far more difficult for the North to convert nuclear waste into atomic weapons.

The total cost of the project was put at $4 billion by Robert L. Gallucci, the chief American negotiator with the North. The financing would be supplied by South Korea, Japan and possibly Germany, Russia and the United States.

Under the accord, North Korea would agree to allow full and continuous inspections of its existing nuclear sites, freeze and then later take apart some of its most important nuclear plants and ultimately ship out of the country fuel rods that could be converted into fuel for weapons.
CLINTON APPROVES A PLAN TO GIVE AID TO NORTH KOREANS - NYTimes.com

The North Korean famine (Hangul: 북한기근), which together with the accompanying general economic crisis are known as the Arduous March (Chosŏn'gŭl: 고난의 행군) in North Korea, occurred in North Korea from 1994 to 1998.[5]

    *snip*

In the late 1980s the Soviet Union was embarking on political and economic reform. It began demanding payment from North Korea for past and current aid — amounts North Korea could not repay. On 26 December 1991, the Soviet Union collapsed, ending all aid and trade concessions, such as cheap oil.[15] Without Soviet aid, the flow of imports to the North Korean agricultural sector ended, and the government proved too inflexible to respond.[16] In 1991, energy imports fell by 75%.[17] The economy went into a downward spiral, with imports and exports falling in tandem. Flooded coal mines required electricity to operate pumps, and the shortage of coal worsened the shortage of electricity. Agriculture relied on electrically powered irrigation systems and artificial fertilizers and pesticides, and it was hard hit by the economic collapse

Ignoring the two madmen is impossible. This is not a game. Keep an eye on China and Russia who are in talks over the potential for Trump goading the crazy Kim. If you think this is a game or has the dynamics of WW1 and WW2 think again. China will never allow the US to attack anywhere near their territory. Russia is more than willing to join China. Trump the other crazy man is not seen by the global community as innocent in goading and Trump has already burned some bridges on the international front. If that doesn't work for you picture the first war fought in our own mainland and bombs dropping. As big as our military is we can't stop a first bombing attack in any state in the US. You would be wrong to think that any state is safe from bombing. This is a deadly serious dangerous situation Trump is dragging us into by going against all past logic. Two nuts poking each other should keep everyone awake at night. China is not hiding where they stand. You better hope that Russia/China meeting today does not spell doom for us. This is not just about North Korea.
