I'd go with "less insane". Sanity, after all, is not a binary condition so much as it is a location upon a spectrum.
    Thanks from Ian Jeffrey

Treason put both of them in office.
Neither should be anywhere but in prison.

How? The only real "bargain" could be something like Nixon: "either resign, or you will be impeached."

Oh, should Goldwater rise from the grave and visit this president.

In 1974, Goldwater and Rhodes told Nixon he was doomed

Yes, something along those lines. Probably not a formal "plea bargain". Faced with the prospect of having to pardon friends and family for financial crimes, and dubious as to whether he could get away with pardoning himself, he might offer to resign the presidency in exchange for dismissing some of the charges that he and his family will face.

Then again, maybe he's innocent. It's possible. Time will tell.

I'd like to see him hold on, nad republicans refuse to do anything about him, until midterms and people vote out as many republicans as possible. Giving a religious nutjob POS Pence presidency with more political skills and a full republican congress will be disastrous

Not sure that could even happen. Impeachment and the federal prosecutor's office are in separate branches of government. How could he know they'd keep their end of the bargain?

Agreed. If such a deal is made, and the U.S. Attorney backs out, Trump would not be able to withdraw a resignation.

It's getting old. I could tell in his campaign rally the other night and there is no way there was 15,000 people in attendance as Trump claimed. But then Trump's never been very good at estimating crowds. Trump can't continue to be a two face. Speaking to his base one way, getting them to froth at the mouth, then calling on the rest of America to unite.

    He'll resign.
