But all NK has said is that their missiles are for defense... they haven't nuked anybody yet?

Some might say the US is the proven nuclear bully on those grounds...

Let's suppose NK had a huge arsenal of nuclear weapons... I bet we would simply drop the issue and they would become just like China and Russia: another somewhat questionable nation with nukes that we are just going to have to live with.

    Thx
NK has been threatening us constantly for years.

    Its a bit different.

Yeah, if we attack them they will do such and such...

Works for Pakistan, why is it different here?

We were at war with NK after all, their paranoia might be more justifiable...

    Thx

You are assuming I consider them a threat.

    I don't.

However I don't mind taking a tough stance with them either.

You also have to consider that we have a partnership with SK and Japan to protect them and they are in easy distance of NK.

Pakistan is different in that regard.

Pakistan also needs them to hold of India and prevent that constant threat of war.

They are just two totally different situations.

Oh, so Pakistan nukes India, and it's just a "local squabble," is it?

Okay, why are we so chummy with SK and Japan and not India?

    Guilty conscience?

No, it's just a double-standard, again, if NK had a large nuclear inventory the "issue" would be dropped. (on both sides.)

    Thx

India got their nukes first I believe and they have a far larger military and more advanced, they don't need our protection.

India is also becoming a major threat so Pakistan having nukes helps us more than hurts.

We aren't all that friendly with India at the moment.

    It's a calculated risk...

We could get this whole thing straightened out very quickly, but only if we were willing to crack down on China.. (I don't know, perhaps threaten to do something about their copyright infringement, espionage or knock-off products... trade deal malfeasance?)

But, that would take sacrifice on the part of Americans.. no more cheap fidget spinners and selfi-phones...!

    (How would American culture survive?!)

    Thx

    In reality it is.
    Short of invading/occupying N. Korea...we can't prevent them being a nuke power.

Trump says he plans to work on China.

What form that will take is unknown yet.

At least he is willing to address it.

He didn't mention during the campaign of tying NK into it however, it was more trade stuff.

It depends what he thinks he can get through congress, probably why he is making so many overtures to them recently.

I am sure he has a plan, just have to wait and see what it is.

Unrelated here, but what is with the rash of double-posting here guys, anyone else notice this?

I believe we have a board glitch.

    To the post.

Actually, it's high time someone addressed the egregious trade relationship we have with China, this is the one issue I have some semblance of agreement with Trump!

(note: I say "some semblance" because his position is usually very foggy and can change from tweet to tweet.)

    Thx
