I'm also not impressed by the argument it will somehow prevent mass shootings either. There are so many illegal guns on our streets and our border security is such a joke the only thing this ban on assault rifles would do is make a few gun smugglers richer. No mass murderer is going to give a shit about the law.

I wish we would get serious about this problem instead of just repeating this same inane nonsense. This country already had an assault rifle ban and it predictably did nothing. This is not a solution to anything so liberal democrats need to stop acting like it is.
Deaths from all weapons is one death too many so you have to do what you can. Just because there's deaths off one type of weapon doesn't warrant you in making no effort to curb other weapons.

    Pants on fire level lies.

Why are there almost no mass shootings in any other first world nations?

    Politifact:
But the statistics it mentions are solid. FBI data backs up the Facebook postís claim that in 2011, more people were murdered with knives, "hands or feet" or "clubs and hammers" than with any type of rifle. We rate the statement True.
That snopes piece belongs in the Misadventures in Fact Checking Thread.

The claim is centered on semi-automatic rifles such as the AR-15.

You can only nerf so much of the world before you're forced to deal with the actual problems.

Confiscation of/ or banning firearms is a public danger.
