Trump and his ilk think they have a right to 4 strikes before they're out.
Impossible to play a game when the rules mean nothing to the players.

I'm leaving all those rights alone as I consider them settled. I'm asking what other rights people think they have or should have.

If someone flips off another can they be fired or not? Is their job a "right"?

If a military man goes on a mobilization, does he have the right to bring 5000 bibles to pass out while he's deployed?

Is a person shouting down another trying to talk a protected right?

Is a living wage a right?

I see people bring things like this up... so I am asking straight out if some folks think some of these should be rights.

Freedom of movement, suggested above, is a good one. Like most rights, it shouldn't be unfettered. As a non-military person I understand I can't drive wherever I want on a military base, and I'm okay with that. But, if I want to road trip to Glacier National Park, try and stop me.

    Here
Once born and a physically separate entity from another human being we should all have a right to life, (that should include access to the same sort of health care everyone gets) a right to pursue life and happiness (along with 7.? other billion people in the world), a right to a minimum level and standard of education as a child and young adult as an equal jumping off point to pursue (or not) additional education, but not be left without enough education to secure meaningful employment, a right to some fair proportionate wage or income, relative to one's employer. A right to being told the truth, fairness, justice and equal rights and the same protection under the law that everyone else has, as long as we all respect one another and realize our pursuit of happiness might not exactly match what someone else's is and where they conflict, find a way to work it out, without depriving people of life and liberty or their depriving us, of the same.

It would be nice of these "rights" did not have to be enumerated in any way shape or form and people had the capacity to see why such things and interactions with others should be mutual as a part of supporting one another's rights and the existence of such rights, by volunteering to do so, in mutual exchange. You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours, could be said to have two meanings or interpretations. Some will see the cliche as representative of those who are corrupt. Others will see it as part of an ethic of reciprocity, that only includes honest and equitable exchanges for all, not as something that would suggest two or more collude to screw someone and split to profits or where someone returns unethical and illegal favors for someone "looking the other way" when one party does something illegal or unethical.

Ain't no rights for most people, if their society is rife with the corrupt and unethical or even those unwilling to compromise and work together with others to conclude an issue so life can move on, even if the issue is revisited at a later date, in order to come up with a final resolution.

Mainly, it would seem that perhaps the most important right any of us should have is to have others, do unto us as they would have them do unto themselves and that we do the same. Then we might realize that if we don't like people being a pain in the butt to us or treating us like crap, then they probably feel the same way we do and don't like us treating them like crap or being a pain in the butt to them. We're gonna have to compromise, like most people in the world, already do, daily and with most of the interactions with others. That means greed ain't gonna work so well and but for the greedy, most people have already figured that out.

One might suggest that being born, might mean you have a right to be here and that would mean every person born in the world has just as much right to be here as we do and perhaps the only right we really should have, is a right to get along with everyone else or a right to work out our differences in a peaceful manner.

The problem with "rights" is that there are too many people that want everyone to respect their rights, even as they don't give a damn about anyone else's rights and without mutual respect for rights and some level of universal values that apply not just to others, but to us as well, rights don't really mean a thing, because people trample the rights of others, all the time, sometimes in very deadly ways.

*edit* I should have added health care. My bad.
Everything that would allow a person to survive in the wild, while allowing the rest the same privilege.

    - to speak your mind
    - defend yourself
    - be entitled to privacy
    - be entitled reasonable legal protections
    - that your home is yours (once owned)

    You know, the basics
