Sure but corporations didnt exist then like today. Healthcare was on us. Insurance didnt even exist for a lot of that period.

It already is an entitlement. The trouble is with entitlements is that when you give someone free stuff, they come to think if it as a right.

very true. but the cost was quite reasonable at that time. sure, it was a strain on the average income, but it was not a bankrupting strain.
