Did the bombing of Syria take your mind off of the President's legal problems?

I get the impression that this little military adventure didn't impress anyone who was not already in the tank for Donald Trump. Syria is still Syria. There was not an impressive fireworks display on the cable news channels last night like the "Shock and Awe" Iraq attack footage that was provided by the Bush administration. Russia and Iran still have boots on the ground in Syria guaranteeing that Assad won't be toppled, and we know that he still has chemical weapons at his disposal.

So, what exactly did we accomplish with last night's bombings?

It put a giant spotlight on Trump's legal issues. I particularly love how Putin's roleplaying as angry is going over. Can't wait for the next chapter.

use of military force is never a good option. but I treat this minor effect as a nothing-burger. no change will result from this.

Nothing. Nothing is ever accomplished in the ME...bombings or boots on the ground. We wasted a lot of US resources last night that could have been used on other needs in the US. France and Britain could have done this on their own...they have more skin in the game.

The Syrian strike was a tactical necessity. Syria was under the impression that Russia was going to "shoot down" American missiles and guess what? They either were bluffing or they fucking knew better.

Chemical weapons are beyond the pale; something needed to be done about this. If more strikes are ordered, though, they need to go through Congress.

    Good job, Trump.
