Well, yeah. No offense to Mr. Narang, who clearly is absolutely correct and no doubt has insights that most folks don't, but anyone who knew anything about North Korea could have -- and by and large did -- predict that North Korea wasn't about to denuclearize unilaterally regardless of what Trump or his administration proposed and that the Pyongyang regime would work to extract every last benefit they could in exchange for whatever concessions they did promise and, more importantly, were forced to actually make. That's just how they roll, no? Absolutely no one in a position to negotiate should have been surprised by any of that.

    Cheers.

Well, you know that, I know that, some others know that but the Dot Don supplicants can't seem to figure it out.

As with a lot of things, "North Korea" is little more than an abstraction to a great many folks, I'm afraid. If they're told that it's something to use the beat up "the bad guys", then so be it. That's what it'll be. If on the other hand they're told that it's something to use to celebrate their team's accomplishments, then that's what it'll be. As a concept it can go from an existential threat to a symbol of triumph overnight. No muss, no fuss... It's all just another commentary on our times, I fear. Most times, maybe...

    Cheers.

    I just don’t get it.

This entire thread, top to bottom, reads like everyone here thinks that Singapore meeting was NORMAL.

You’re all talking about it like it was a “negotiation”. Everyone’s treating it like it was a “diplomatic attempt at an agreement”.

I have never, in my life, ever, imagined anything as fucking ridiculous as that media stunt.

That was 100% idiotic. It was a farce. It was a bizzare circus freak joke. It was utterly, totally humiliating. It was a disgrace.

It is inconceivable to me. Inconceivable. That a national leader could DO THAT. At all. It’s unimaginable that that happened. And he’s STILL in his position??? Why??? How could any politician survive that?

That fraud was the single most humiliating, disgraceful, shameful thing that any US President has ever done. Ever.

And it’s like it never happened.

All discussion of it out if the US totally normalizes it.

“Well you know, he tried to unilaterally negotiate with North Korea blah blah blah”.

    What the fuck????

I honestly do not understand. Why is he not removed. That was a national disgrace. It was a blatant, obvious, self-serving joke. Not the slightest bit funny because of the living hell North Korea perpetuates on its people and victims.

How could anyone possibly act like that was normal?
