The shotgun-effect doesn't work in this case. Over-saturation is too easy to detect - certainly moreso these days. Also, PH is not the target for these types of things since we take stories from the web, bring them here and discuss / investigate them ourselves. The targets for these bots is places people frequent - top-end social media.

Ultimately, any new member is heavily scrutinized here, it would be so obvious.

Of course there are Russian agents at play here creating division and spreading lies. There mission is to disrupt the Trump administration and aid Democrats pick up seats in the Senate and House.

Just look at some of these hyperbolic threads. Trump is bringing genocide and trump supporters are human garbage.

It would also include potentially paying posters to post propaganda and thats fairly easily traceable.
Sorry bajisma I couldn't disagree with you more. All it takes is a person fluent in English to sow discourse and produce false information to foment support for Trump's agenda. One here writes as if he's fluent, but not familiar with local American english, as one would be as a native speaker. To me it's obvious he is not a native although pretends to be.

Russians are way too good at math to devote any resources to something that insignificant. Sadly, the ones you are thinking of do it because they believe it.
So our intelligence agencies just made up the stuff about operatives involved in social media? What about what happened on Facebook?

Why does it have to be an American or even westerner? On the contrary they're most likely not one.

Facebook reaches millions. A single post can go around the country in minutes. What anyone posts here stays within maybe a thousand people at most if we are having a good day with lurkers. Its just not efficient. Russians know efficiency, which is why they focused on Facebook and Twitter. Gets a message out quickly and to the most eyes.

I'm not saying that we don't have members who read Russian promoted articles. Some of them probably did it quite regularly without even knowing it. I'm sure I read an article or two that was somehow or another "elevated" by phony means. But the idea that there are Russian "agents" arguing with strangers online, or starting threads for a handful of politically engaged geeks in a corner of the internet... it just seems kind of silly to me.

But one thing... what do you mean by "Putin knows his puppet controls all LE in the USA and welcomes the help." ?

BTW, you make great polls, @Devil505.

Intelligence operations work on a cumulative basis. And furthermore there's not a lot of time invested in a few minutes on this forum and that.

Was wondering that too. Does that mean our police are infiltrated by the Russians?
