Atheist TV. Coming to a television near you.

Finally. Being that 20% of Americans are now Atheist, Agnostic or Unaffiliated with a Religion it looks like we are finally going to get some airtime.

Speaking at a gathering of local atheists, humanists, freethinkers and other nontheists in a chemistry lecture hall at Stanford University, David Silverman, president of American Atheists, a national advocacy group for nontheists, announced Tuesday (May 6) that his New Jersey-based organization would launch the first television channel dedicated to atheism in July.

“Why are we going to television?” he asked the audience, a mix of about 100 students and people from the local community. “It’s part of our strategy of going where we are not.”

The channel, which Silverman did not name, is believed to be the first channel dedicated exclusively to nontheism. There are more than 100 Christian and four Jewish television stations broadcasting in the United States.

This may not be equal time but at least we will be getting our voice out there in the Television World. The demographics are changing. Thanks to shows like Cosmos more and more people are starting to believe in Evolution and Atheism is growing. Especially the younger crowd.

I think I'm going to start a non-Dutch Super PAC.

Its an advocacy group for people who aren't from Holland.

They are going to have to find more to talk about than how mean/stupid people of faith are, and, evolution.

    Science?

Well, that would be a good place to start, but, they already have some hefty competion in that area (But, what the hey, if they are going that route, the more the merrier)

    History?

    Same thing.

    Philosophy?

Hey, I would be up for it, but....not so certain there is that large of an audience for deep philosophy...regardless of where it comes from.

Well, since the History Channel seems to have dedicated itself to coverage of "ancient astronauts," there's an opening, I suppose.

They could showcase the process of non-theistic creation by running porn videos 24/7 I'm sure that would quickly become a popular channel lol
