All of which is not in the OP. If you think it's all hokum, why are you posting?

It's pretty stupid. Innocence and Sin do not exist in the same space. Sin is its own reward. It's like claiming that when a father abandons his children and his wife to chase something younger and firmer that his wife and children should not be able to hate him. The rewards of sin are part of the entire human system. I have never read anything so idiotic.

But what if God is the "father" in your analogy....and WE are the "wife and children"?

    Same standard apply?

This is my point I wanted to make in this thread. Sorry to use you as a example.

If some Christian guy I don't know in some place I've never heard of does something awful, or 1600s Spaniards commit genocide, or some nutbar in Rome despises women - it has nothing at all to with me and my own religion.

I don't speak for them. I don't even know them. They said they were Christian? Bully for them.
I do not feel used. I do think Americans have a different view of christ than other nations.
    Thanks from cable2 and Iolo

I believe he is posting to generate discussion and for people to learn or not from that discussion.

I believe the concept is that you do not have to hate him but to forgive him for being a sinner. Then take his ass to court and get everything he ever owned.

All true, but to allow ones mind to seek a supernatural God is a waste of time.

That is why Gnostic Christians seek God, as one of the Jesus' taught and have not become idol worshipers. We see God more like they did before Christians and Muslims became idol worshipers.

Here's a reminder just in case you were answering what you wanted instead of the actual question at hand..
I would not claim to be Christian as theirs is an immoral homophobic and misogynous cult while, I, a Gnostic Christian belong to a Universalist cult that have tied equality before the law to righteousness and cannot discriminate without a just cause.

As to what Jesus taught, you would have to define which Jesus you are talking about as there is more than one who speaks out of the bible.

Simply stated, there is the one who was created by Rome. The Roman pacifist ass kisser who tells us to walk two miles when one is what the law said. He is the one who would make us slaves to God.

Gnostic Christians like the esoteric and mystical Jesus that wants to free us from mental slavery and be his brethren.

    He said these things.

Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

These other quotes apply to the first.

Luke 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Mark 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

I hope you see the difference between those two Jesus'.

    Regards
    DL

Let me phrase it more simply for you.

Having another innocent person suffer for the wrongs you have done, --- so that you might escape responsibility for having done them, --- is immoral.

    Do you agree?
