He just doesn't want them to know the thrill and excitement of Christmas.
If he has children, my bet is that he allows them other times of joy.

Do you really believe it is the fat man coming down the chimney that excites them? What do you think it's all the toys that are under the Christmas tree. Kids are just as excited the year after they learn there is no Santa Claus.
You don't know how funny what you wrote is. I was just about to tell the story about my husband telling my daughter that there was no Santa Claus. ;(And I am the Jewish one. )I wanted her to believe because it was so cute. But after he told her ,she was very pensive and then finally said, " are you Going to tell me there's no Easter bunny also"
