    Correct.

Why would I advocate for something that would make my life worse?

Thomas Frank asked that question, too...

But he gave an answer you won't like.

He is espousing a utilitarian point of view while mine is based in realism, which is

commonly accepted as the most logical ideological theory.

In game theory it is extremely unlikely that a player will start an action without a reward for winning.

You can also break this down to selfishness.

Anything anyone does they do for pleasure or self-fulfillment.

No matter the action that is always the reason.

    Let them eat cake!

Like golden caviar, cake and gold make sense as a culinary pairing as well. While the caviar may have been steeply priced per jar, the cake made with both gold AND diamonds will run you over $20,000. But don’t worry, it’s only $2,500 a slice. Bought by an admittedly impulsive man, the proud owner of the cake, which also includes real flower finishes, served it for his 60th birthday back in 2011. The cake was made with gold leaf and a two-Karat diamond, and holds the world record for the most expensive desert ever created. Apparently, it tasted quite amazing as well.

Or better yet, a 666 Douche Burger!

True story, New York City’s 666 Burger truck has created the world’s most expensive hamburger. It is aptly named the Douche Burger, and comes replete with a Kobe beef patty, Gruyere cheese, BBQ sauce, rock salt from the Himalayas, caviar, foie gras, lobster and even truffles. The piece de résistance is the gold leaf that wraps the Kobe patty, making the beef shimmer. Priced at, you guessed it, $666, the Douche Burger is aimed at those who have the money, and maybe don’t see the irony in the name of what they’re eating. The burger is actually wrapped in three $100 bills. While the point of the burger was to drum up publicity for their $6.66 regular burgers, the owners of the truck have actually sold a few.
    I'm rooting for the arsenic...

By addressing the cause of the problem, rather than the problem itself. You have a park with pigeons crapping all over it. You want to come up with plans to poison the birds, shoot the birds, or build mesh barriers to stop the birds.

I want to enforce laws prohibiting people from feeding the birds so they're not as likely to congregate in the park.
