    Let's put in these terms....

You live on an island. The Island has a King. He is not elected nor can ever be removed from office by the People. His powers are absolute and there is NO court of appeal to his decisions.

The King has a set of Rules, that He created. And he says, "Love and worship me...and obey my Rules. And at your age of seniority, I will give you a luxurious mansion, free food and drink, endless recreation, and all the money you want."

He adds though "However if you fail to obey my Rules...if you fail to love and worship me.....even if you move to the other side of the Island and ignore me? I will send my soldiers out to find you and take you to a place of darkness, where you be tortured."

"Oh, but you have Free Will to choose which scenario you like....and of course I love you."

What is your answer to the analogy?

Do the Islanders have "Free Will"....or do they live under the threat of the King's torture dungeon to obey and "love" him?

No, but the Islanders are on Satan's Island not God's

And you might want to brush up on your Bible before you start putting Dante's words in God's mouth.

Fine, the King lives on Another Island where the mansions and free food are.

And the Torture Dungeon is yet another island.

Any other flaw in my analogy?

((BTW, I can quote a Bible verse that you can't. ))

So given that inevitability which way are you going to choose?

Live in paradise and be grumpy with God or suffer for eternity in Hell and be pissed at Him?

    You have no other options.
So, your response is, "Yes, God is a Tyrant. Deal with it,". Brilliant.

    Definition of tyranny

Tyranny is usually thought of as cruel and oppressive, and it often is, but the original definition of the term was rule by persons who lack legitimacy, whether they be malign or benevolent. Historically, benign tyrannies have tended to be insecure, and to try to maintain their power by becoming increasingly oppressive. Therefore, rule that initially seems benign is inherently dangerous, and the only security is to maintain legitimacy — an unbroken accountability to the people through the framework of a written constitution that provides for election of key officials and the division of powers among branches and officials in a way that avoids concentration of powers in the hands of a few persons who might then abuse those powers.

So, no. God couldn't possibly be a tyrant simply because he is the creator of everything in everything -- hence LEGITIMATE. And even in this absolute legitimacy, you are allowed your free will to post inanities here -- proof of the benevolence in the exercise of that absolute power.

    Uhmmm...duh?
So, your going to argue from antiquity. Okay. Then let's just keep this in modern terms that you cannot twist to mean things that were not intended. The Christian God is a bully that relies on coercion to force people into obedience. This is why he created Hell, and threatens non-adherents with eternal suffering, and punishment. Go ahead, Kingrat. Twist that into something I didn't mean.

kingrat doesn't accept that "God created Hell"....because it presents a problem of theodicy for which he can't resolve.

Ergo, he claims Hell "isn't a place" or some bizarre metaphysical contradiction to get God "off the hook".

    Just stating a fact.

You will spend eternity in bliss or torture, which will you decide?

    You have no other options.

It's interesting how you have the same "Submit, Obey, Worship or Suffer" attitude in politics.

Your attitudes towards God are similar to your attitudes towards Trump.

This harkens back to the use by leaders of the Church to enforce loyalty. The old "divine right of kings"....which was supported by people like you in the ancient past.
