I think it goes to the relative vs absolute debate. Some things are really absolutely wrong but some people take the relative view that it depends on how you look at it.

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Jesus seems to be saying that he is promoting division and war with a number of his sayings that pit father against son and brother against brother.

Jesus advocated division, war and hate; even as some think he preached to love our enemies.

Did Jesus hate and is hate thus a good character trait?

He was right, of course. Think about it: Since the time of Jesus, has there ever been peace on Earth? The history of man is the history of warfare, with the victors writing the history books.

Jesus preached peace, but he knew we weren't up to the task of keeping the peace. Moreover, a lot of the wars that have been fought were fought in the name of the Prince of Peace.

I don't think he hated anyone He just knew what humans were really like.

True. But that does not answer the questions posed.

And the punishment leads to a penalty is years or torture in hell and then death and if that does not tell you that there is hate for the souls at play, then your judgement is not sound and you are not willing to face the truth.

Are you talking of the many times God is shown to kill when he could have taken the moral high ground and cure instead of kill, even to the point of genocide?

If not, give an example please.

I see religions, and their male Gods of war, which were basically hand in glove with governments as having gifted us with more like 5,000 years of war.

Before the Bronze age, for the previous 20,000 years, the Goddesses ruled in peace and did not even fortify their cities. There was no need to until we developed the metal weapons that made killing each other so much easier.

As to Jesus, we may never know as he is likely just a fictional mythical character.

Biblically speaking, he curse some and I cannot see Jesus not hating those he cursed.

Luke 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Mark 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

Further, if Jesus, as God, can condemn anyone to hell for eternity for a finite sin, then he will likely haver hate in his heart for those poor abused souls.

    DL

    True.

Money lending ( interest), hypocracy, and Being judgemental.

Those are the only 3 I know.

Should Jesus not have hated slavery as well as slave owners?

Can you hate an act while not hating the one doing it.

Can you hate to be raped but love the one raping you?

Jesus hates sin, Loves people. Children do things their parents do not like but Parents don't hate their Children, and they push for them to strive to do the right thing at all times,

I'm only going by what he actually said and did in the Gospels. Not extending it to what he WOULD think.

The only things that ever angered him were money lending (meaning applying interest to money), hypocracy and being judgemental in calling out sin, even insulting others for some sin, while being blind to ones own. That's the only things that ever angered him.
