There are four loves spoken of in the Bible, the english language only uses one word while the hebrew language uses four very distinct types.

    eros - erotic love

    phila - Friendship

    storge - parental

    Agape - Unconditional

You can love someone and not particularly like them...because it is not about YOU and your feelings, it is about Him and His commands...placing that above your own personal feelings
Thank you. Even though you disagree, you at least attempt to offer a rebuttal.

Others would do well to follow your example ~

It's certainly filled with lots of horror that's for sure but its all in there for a reason which most of the time I have no idea what message its supposed to be giving me.

If you meet a Christian who is over confident and thinks they know what God is about I think you are talking to someone not very close to God at all.

The people that know it the best are the ones that don't try to explain or justify it but let God walk them through it at His own pace.

    Like Socrates said,

The Bible. Not only could man not have written it...man WOULD not have written it the way it is...incest, murder, deception etc etc etc...

Nope, personal as in 'attacking Christians in this thread.' I don't think threads in this section, should be a free ticket to personally attack Christians. I will defend Christians if I see that.

I spoke with someone else. And I fear you did not understand what I said. The key expression is "to believe not to believe". It's not only for Christians important to know the own belief.

    You are deflecting by claiming that you don't lie;
What? "deflecting" ... ah: de-flect-ing ... ablenken ... got it. I did not say that I don't lie and if I said so then I was a liar.

bravo, but that does not mean that Christians always tell the truth.
To lie is not a sin. Example: If a murderer likes to know where his victim lives then to be a damned good liar and to send the murderer a completely wrong way is in such a case the art of heaven.

Have an open mind for once.
    Funny.

....An the fact that you believe that the author in the OP must be lying by default, speaks volumes about your blind devotion.

I think for the most part that Christians are just trying to find their way, just like everybody else. it seems that when some of them judge others for the path that they are on that things get less Christ-like.

This is true, the bible is about Flawed men, who God made whole.

If you wanted to create a "Religion" the men and women would have been perfect... The only one that is perfect in the Bible is God, who became flesh, and died in our place.

He died because WE are not perfect and cannot pay the price for sin.

I consider myself the Chief of all Sinners, because there are times I KNOW BETTER and I sin anyway...

Paul said "there are times I do what I am suppose to do, and don't do what I am suppose to do, "

Nobody except you claims anyone or anything but man wrote the Bible, even God says that, even the authors say that.

It kind of even has the human authors name on each chapter.

Do you think it just magically appeared one day?

Maybe one of those unicorns shat it out huh?

    That makes no sense.

The Old Testament portrays God as a tribalistic, vindictive, even genocidal being....as or even MORE evil than the average human being.
