I do know that Jews don't believe in either a heaven or hell. My understanding is that they have some beliefs as to where the soul goes after death to cleanse itself for the world to come but there is no official doctrine beyond that. Jewish faith focuses on this world more than the next.

So I guess we are pretty much saying the same thing here.

No. You can't get a straight answer. And I feel like we've been through this.

    Here's why.

Can I get one straight answer - do Americans like country music. Yes or no?

    What's the answer?

The answer is "some do and some don't". Which is NOT a straight answer.

Catholics in South America would might say no. Most of them. Catholics in Asia or North America would officially say yes. But some people would argue it.

Southern Baptists might say no, Baptists in Canada would say yes. Presbyterians or Mennonites would say yes officially, but individuals would differ.

I'm United and we would say that heaven and hell are metaphors and you should be helping God with His work, not asking silly questions about literary devices.

Anglicans would think no but say yes.

So there's the straightest answer I can give.
    I gave a straight answer.

When they die Jews go to Katz's Deli in NYC. The good Jews eat pastrami reubens with matzao ball soup. The not so good wash dishes and take out the trash.

    Cheers,

Correct but the general constructs of their faith are based on written texts and while there are different sects the texts on the soul and the world to come are uniform. Because there really is not much in the texts on the subjects you are left in a state of unknowing but to get lost in that is not constructive. It's better to work on what you can know in this life.

Its not a hard question and one you don't need to ask us, it's in the Bible.

    Duh

Righteous sounds pretty SUBJECTIVE to me.

Some might, some might not. It isn't kosher, only "kosher-style." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katz%27s_Delicatessen
