That reminded me of a Calvin and Hobbes. Hobbes says when we die we play sax in an all girls jazz group or something. Calvin asks "you mean if we're good or bad?".

Its not a hard question and one you don't need to ask us, it's in the Bible.

    Duh
Spooky, according to YOUR interpretation of the Bible, do "good" Jews go to Heaven or Hell?

If you keep dodging the question, you merely prove my point that it's a paradox for you.

No. You can't get a straight answer. And I feel like we've been through this.

    Here's why.

Can I get one straight answer - do Americans like country music. Yes or no?

    What's the answer?

The answer is "some do and some don't". Which is NOT a straight answer.

Catholics in South America would might say no. Most of them. Catholics in Asia or North America would officially say yes. But some people would argue it.

Southern Baptists might say no, Baptists in Canada would say yes. Presbyterians or Mennonites would say yes officially, but individuals would differ.

I'm United and we would say that heaven and hell are metaphors and you should be helping God with His work, not asking silly questions about literary devices.

Anglicans would think no but say yes.

So there's the straightest answer I can give.
This is a PERSONAL OPINION question....not looking for "demoninational authority". I don't expect the Southern Baptist Council representative to be here or an official spokesman for the Vatican.

I'm interested in what Fund/Evang Christians ON THIS BOARD believe.

No, you dodged...as usual. A straight answer from you would be EITHER

"Yes, a good/righteous Jew gets into Heaven"

or "No, doesn't matter how good or righteous they are, only Christians get into Heaven."

It is a Xian concept, so no.

There is a a ritual immersion in a mikveh, but it has nothing to do with the Xian concept of baptism.
    Thanks from GordonGecko

I think me and NightSwim were just joking, Ian. Of course, Jews don't believe in baptism.

BTW, you'll notice how my prediction is coming true....that the ACTUAL ANSWER to my question posed in the Subect Line "Can I get a straight answer...."

is "No, you can't. The Fund/Evange Christians won't give you one." Spooky has proven that, I'm sure TNVol, aboutenough, etc. will as well.

They are caught in a dilemma.

They can't say "Jews go to Hell", because that means God has broken his Covenant with the Jews.

But they can't say "Jews go to Heaven, too, same as Christians", because that means that there are "other ways" to get to Heaven, than by accepting Jesus as Christ and your personal savior.

Therefore, they dodge, deflect, bob, weave, fold, spindle, mutiliate, DESPERATELY try to change the subject.....rather than give a straight answer.

I can answer that. Catholics consider Purgatory as a waiting period to get to Heaven. Limbo means waiting period. I never heard that in relation to Catholics. I grew up in a family half Lutheran. My Dad and Grandfather. The other Catholic. Then my Mother's side. Methodist. GGFather ,Minister.

But I have to tell you, those three Religions just disagreed ion certain rules. ,now I go to a Bretren that teaches One Church,my kind of Chrch. I do not put a lot of thought into man made rules.

Baptism is to be cleansed of your sins to accept Christ.
