    Agreed.

And I also didn't like the movies. Seriously, fucking Tom Cruise as Reacher? Come on...
    Thanks from Sassy and Madeline

    Ever seen "Hostel"?

Oh, yeah, I forgot about It! Another adaptation that did not go very well ... not bad, but not great either. Like with The Stand, too many things had to be left out for television.
    Thanks from Madeline

Retarded. Reacher is described over and over and over as being so tall and so huge. I hate Cruise in that role!
Thanks from The Man and Benji

I saw one of the films, I forget which. I didn't buy Cruise in that role, either, and I haven't read the books (nor do I have a desire to).
Thanks from The Man and Madeline

Bleh. And he wanted to be Iron Man. Yeah, no.

Ugh. Cruise would have made a terrible Iron Man.

Oh, and in my family we spell it "bleah," not "bleh."
Thanks from Sassy, Madeline and The Man

King did not really have creative control over his adaptations until God Knows. He hated The Shining, too.

The Dead Zone with Christopher Walken and Martin Sheen was also good, though there were some departures from the novel. Carrie was terrible, as was Cujo. Those are the only ones I've seen.
Cujo was brilliant in so many ways, as a movie. The women of America wanted to burn Ford to the ground over the craptastic Pinto after that (if you recall, at the time IRL it also burst into flames without warning, maiming and killing many, while Ford persistently denied there was an issue.)

But Cujo the movie has almost none of the psychological horror that the several subplots of the book has. The farmer's wife, for example.....the movie missed all her despair and depression.

I'd say there are few King horror movies I think are anywhere his books. Stand By Me is probably my favorite King movie, but it's not "horror".
