Non-Republican Christians Exist. I am One.

    I am a Christian.

I am a Christian and I am not a Republican.

Contrary to some reports, I am not a mythical creature relegated to story books and fanciful campfire tales. I do exist. I am not a leprechaun or a unicorn, I am flawed, failing flesh and blood working out a working religion here alongside you with fear and great trembling. I am a person of deep and abiding faith—and I do not vote Red.

How do you rationalize your liberal views that contradict the Bible?

Do you say that God is wrong?

How do you rationalize your fringe right views that contradict any holy book ever written?

Given Jesus' message of love and compassion, I can't see how being a Republican Christian is possible without some major cognitive dissonance.

The answer to the OP is that these fundie so called Christians, do not accept over half of world wide Christians to even be Christians, considering them "Christians in name only" and doomed to eternal hell, unless they see the error of their ways and become fundies....

There may not be many Christians left in the Republican Party, but the Democrats positions on virtually all issues are 180 degrees opposite of the teachings of the Bible.

Honestly, I cannot support what Donald Trump does and call myself a Christian, but there is no way on this earth that anybody can be a Democrat and a Christian.

I can careless what a person's religious beliefs are...that is none of my business.

I have a problem with those that attempt to inculcate those beliefs into public life.

I have the normal push-back to those that oppose my political ideas and I would suspect those people have the normal push-back from my political ideas.

My problem are those whose whole argument is based on religion. I will not debate someone on mythology solving real world problems.

I've heard that mantra all my life. From the side of the family with all the drunks, drug addicts, suiciders, adulterers, felons, and corrupt and greedy business persons.
    Thanks from labrea and OldGaffer
